Education Support Professionals are delighted to be partnering with St George’s Weybridge in their search for a new Director of IT. We are looking to contact someone who has the passion and vision for shaping the future of the Technology department. This position is not just about having the technical ‘know-how’, as we are searching for an individual who has both the personality and presence to continue to move the IT department forward. We are seeking candidates with the enthusiasm and strategic vision to guide the school to achieve their future IT goals; someone who is emotionally intelligent, motivated, diplomatic, and at all times approachable.
This pivotal role will see you play both a strategic and hands-on role in shaping and influencing the St George’s technical and digital landscape. New projects in the pipe-line for next year include – an iPad rollout – which will provide you with the challenges for this high profile role.
You will be responsible for overseeing the entire IT operation which includes being a member of the Business Senior Management team and technical advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, which will involve you leading in the school’s infrastructure, security, innovation and strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- Spearhead a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship, nurturing the growth and development of your team members.
- Effectively manage IT projects, ensuring timely and successful implementation of digital initiatives.
- Represent the IT department at the highest level, collaborating with senior leaders and governors.
- Communication & Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, proactively engaging with the school community on IT matters.
- Deliver clear, timely, and effective communication to all staff, ensuring everyone is informed and empowered.
- Foster a positive and welcoming IT environment, where technology is embraced as a tool for progress.
- Play a key role in shaping the school’s IT strategy, aligning technology with our educational goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT plan, ensuring we have the infrastructure and systems to support our vision.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and threats, advising on opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring 24/7/365 availability and security of our systems.
- Manage the IT budget effectively, optimizing resources to deliver maximum value.
- Implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard our digital assets.
Qualifications
- A proven track record of success in a leadership role within an IT environment.
- Extensive experience in managing and implementing complex IT strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies, trends, and security threats.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
- A passion for education and a commitment to using technology to enhance learning.
