Job description
We are seeking an empathetic, strong listener to facilitate a peer-to-peer support group for family members and carers of those affected by substance misuse.
This volunteer role is within the Brighton and Hove Substance Misuse Service. It will involve supporting families and carers affected by substance misuse through peer-to-peer support as well as linking in with other agencies within the community and mutual aid groups.
The main responsibility for this role will be to facilitate a peer-to-peer support group for family members and carers of those affected by substance misuse. The purpose of the group is to offer support, a safe space and a space for Family members and Carers to be able to talk in a non-judgemental and safe environment.
The volunteer will be expected to take responsibility for personal development and participate in regular supervision. The volunteer will be offered a training package and also have access to additional trainings once in post.
