An exciting new interim opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in North-West England for a Children’s Commissioning Manager. You will report to the Head of Service and the key focus of this role will be overseeing and quality checking the residential placement searches.

 
My client will looking to set up interviews on Friday, with a view to start as soon as possible after that.   

 
Children’s Commissioning Manager
Initial 3-month interim contract (potential of extension)
North-West England, full-time hybrid, 3 days on site.
Up to £400 per day through FCSA Umbrella
Inside IR35

 
About your duties as the Children’s Commissioning Manager, Children’s Social Care:  

• You will have line manager responsibilities for 2x Placement Officers
• You will need to monitor the team and ensure proper training is being provided.
• Overseeing the placement searches within the team and ensuring they are up to the standard required.
• Take a joint lead with the Head of Service on visiting external providers and client relationship management.
• Identify and resolve any gaps within the current systems and processes set up, drawing on your own previous experience within other Councils.

 
Your experience needed as the Children’s Commissioning Manager, Children’s Social Care:  

• Demonstrable experience within Children’s Commissioning
• A proven track record within Children’s Placement Commissioning
• A sound knowledge and understanding of Children’s Social Care placements, contracts and their processes
• A good knowledge of Children’s Residential Settings.
• An understanding of Speech and Language Therapy contracts is desirable but not essential due to one of the contracts being of this nature.
• Experience in confidently dealing with contract disputes
• Experience in training and developing staff members
