Responsibilities: - Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering tailored tax advice.
- Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with tax regulations within specified deadlines.
- Prepare and submit accurate personal tax returns, calculating tax liabilities and effectively communicating outcomes to clients.
- Complete client P11D forms and handle submissions to HMRC, ensuring compliance with all government requirements.
- Act as a liaison with HMRC and other relevant parties on behalf of clients.
- Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations, keeping abreast of new filing practices and deadlines.
- Monitor and record chargeable time, working within fee budgets and contributing to the financial success of the practice.
- Review work completed by junior colleagues and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the role.
Requirements: - Proven experience in personal tax within an accounting practice.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Highly organized with exceptional planning and time management abilities, even under pressure.
- Advantageous to have tax or accountancy qualifications or working towards them.
- Willingness to assist colleagues during busy periods to ensure timely task completion.
- Committed to delivering accurate and high-quality work.
- Resourceful in researching unfamiliar tax issues and seeking advice when needed.
