A high-quality school in Willesden, Brent is seeking a full-time Science Teacher to join a successful department in March 2024. The school boasts a "Good" Ofsted rating with the report praising the behaviour of the pupils. This school is not just focused on academic achievement but also encourages its pupils to excel physically, culturally, and spiritually.

The Role

The school is seeking a fully qualified Science Teacher to teach at Key Stage 3 and 4. The ideal candidate should have a specialism in either Biology or Physics and be comfortable teaching KS3 Chemistry.

There is already a fully planned science curriculum in place; however, the school encourages teachers to be creative with their teaching and learning approaches. The Science department is experienced and welcoming. Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply as the department has an experienced Science mentor who can help plan lessons and offer guidance if necessary.

Job Duties:

• Deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
• Specialise in either Biology or Physics, with the ability to teach KS3 Chemistry
• Follow the school's planned science curriculum while incorporating creative teaching methods
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and progress
• Collaborate with other Science teachers and the department to share resources and ideas
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Science curriculum
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Required Qualifications:

• Fully qualified teacher status
• Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4
• Specialism in either Biology or Physics
• Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage and inspire students
• Organisational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate qualification in Education or a relevant subject
• Experience mentoring or supporting newly qualified teachers
• Experience in implementing innovative teaching strategies
