Randstad are currently looking for motivated, flexible individuals who will provide cover for permanent staff. This involves different elements of food preparation and food serving, as well as washing up and cleaning in a fast-paced kitchen environment within school.

Role: Kitchen Assistant

Location: Albion Site, Cilfynydd, Pontypridd CF37 4SF

Pay Rate: £11.79 ph

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday, 16.25 hours a week

Requirements:

• To actively promote any marketing or promotions to customers as required.
• Cleaning and proper use of all food preparation areas, facilities and equipment.
• Preparation of dining halls prior to and after service, setting up and clearing away tables, chairs and serveries.
• Reporting of any preparation, facility or equipment defect.
• To carry out light cooking tasks as and when required by the Cook /or Assistant Cook

Essential Criteria:

• An understanding and interest of the food service industry

• Working in a kitchen environment and associated practices

• Genuine interest in food and providing an excellent service

Desirable criteria:

• All successful casual applicants must have a food safety Certificate - Level 2 or a willingness to work towards gaining the qualification

• Experience of counter service and customer care

• Experience of working and providing a food service to young people
