We are looking for a Customer Account Manager to join our EMEA Loyalty team to make an outstanding contribution to the growth of our regional sales capability.
Operating as part of a passionate and successful team, our Customer Account Managers are responsible for selling Avalara's complete range of Tax Technology solutions and services to our customers in the EMEA region, and working with our Customer Success Team to gain intimate knowledge or our customers business and deliver a best in class experience.

Responsibilities
- Establish and grow professional working relationships and network with day-to-day users up to the executive level.
- Execute campaigns and use networking opportunities and technologies to drive lead generation with existing ecommerce, retail, software projects requiring tax or cross-border compliance solutions
- Manage a pipeline of cross-on and up sell opportunities within a set of existing accounts and deliver results against a quota
- Provide timely forecasts and risk analysis to direct manager as well as track customer and partner interaction, leveraging Salesforce
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly booking goals through self-motivation, goal setting and solution driven approaches to problem solving
- Use superior interpersonal, presentation and communication skills for sales calls, product presentations, webinars and face-to-face meetings as well as hosting demonstrations and partner webinars
- Present a professional image via communication skills, both proactively and when under duress.
- Create a win-win environment for the client and Avalara by professionally and ethically negotiating issues related to contracts, pricing and service fees.
- Work in a team environment with a Customer Success Manager to promote client retention and satisfaction
- Mentors/coaches Customer Account Managers
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an existing business, quota-carrying sales role
- 3 years' experience minimum in B2B selling of managed services, SaaS software or VAT related services, preferably to tax, finance, IT or business owners at a senior level
- Experience being held to and motivated by metrics
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills both internally and externally
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strategic account planning discipline
- High energy and positive attitude
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Curious, ambitious and achievement oriented
- Persistent and positive by nature
- Strong desire to continue a career in software and technology
- Self-starter with ability to take initiative
- Specialised knowledge of the retail, software, logistics, finance, accounting or tax industry, would be a distinct advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal sales training would be an advantage
- At least one second European language (Dutch, German, French, Scandinavian or Italian), spoken and written at business level is a distinct benefit relevant bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of desktop productivity tools and experience using CRM systems (e.g. salesforce.com).
