Job description
Renishaw are offering an exciting opportunity as a Project Engineer within the manufacturing department, responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of influential projects, including Automation Equipment Development projects, targeted at improving our manufacturing processes.
This opportunity will be working to introduce automation to precision optical/electromechanical assembly process within a high complexity, and challenging assembly environment.
Applicants will be considered from a wide range of STEM subjects, across Engineering, Mathematics and the Sciences.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all stages of project management, controlling timescales, resource and budget. Specific activities will vary dependant on the type of project:
Defining and owning technical concept and strategy for projects.
Creating, managing, and reporting project plan, progress and risks.
Responsibility for project team task management and delivery.
Interaction across a wide ranging team of multi-discipline engineers and technicians.
Researching technologies, managing and undertaking trials to determine solutions.
Managing the introduction of assembly processes and product interaction equipment (including automation) to the factory floor.
Frequent interaction with product designers, production support and management to ensure solutions meet quality and product performance requirements.

Key requirements
Degree qualified (2:1 or above) in a STEM subject
Excellent problem solving and practical skills
Good communication and social skills
Be an engaged, enthusiastic, and motivated individual
Genuine interest for a career working in a world leading engineering company working on high-tech, high complexity products and processes
Knowledge of Design for Manufacture/Assembly principles
Process and Design FMEA
