Job description

Summary/Objective The Regional Accountant will work as an integral part of the accounting team providing daily transactional support for assigned field locations, maintaining accuracy of the general ledger. Support the preparation of financial statements and reports, assist with audits and budgets, and perform account reconciliations. In all cases, and responsible for ensuring that all transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) follow company procedures and standards. This position is an exempt, hybrid role reporting to the Director of Accounting. Essential Functions Calculation and recording of commissions, royalty, and rent for multiple airport locations including Canadian locations Responsible for the general ledger postings for all accruals. Processing of invoices including utilities, rent, taxes, and other overhead. Provide daily accounting support to the Regional VP of Operations, Area Managers, and airport GM’s with financial statement analysis. Intensive P&L review, utilizing trending and variance analysis to identify possible misstatements. Analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet and P&L. Prepare ad hoc reports to assist in P&L reviews, forecasting, and budgeting. Assist in various audit processes, as needed, preparing schedules and/or documentation. Assist with the preparation of period-end and year-end close requirement. Memorialize written standard operating procedures and internal control documentation, as requested. Performs any other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications – Education, Experience, Skills, and Other Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required in accounting or another related field. Must have at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar position; preference for five (5) years’ experience in corporate accounting with multi-site experience, preferably in the hospitality, food service/food and beverage or airport industry. Must be technically proficient in GAAP; Canadian accounting and tax reporting hands-on experience preferred. Sales and Use Tax, Joint Venture, and SAP experience is highly desirable, but not required. Demonstrated intermediate level technical competence and experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint).
