The post holder will be responsible for the planning, organisation and control of all refuse, recycling and street cleansing operational related services and for delivering quality services that provide value for money. The post holder will be a member of the Street Scene & Technical Services Team and will take an active role in the review, implementation and monitoring of operations, procedures, practices and health and safety. The post holder will contribute to ensuring the service plan and corporate aims are achieved. The Manager will be responsible for a large number of staff and will therefore require strong staff management and development skills.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of performance management processes, culture and systems to set targets and deliver manageable outcomes
Experience of managing large numbers of staff
Technical experience within refuse and cleansing services
Information Technology experience
Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Relevant supervisory/management qualification
GCSE English and Maths
the holder of Certificate of Technical Competence in Waste Management Operations (4TSH) and Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage Operations, or willing to work towards this
Suitable Health and Safety qualification, or willing to work towards this
Full HGV manual driving license (Please note that adaptations to the Council’s vehicle being used would be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010)
