About Our Client

This business is an established FMCG manufacturer that is looking for someone to lead their engineering efficiency, as the Engineering Improvement Manager you will be instrumental in ensuring site performance, working end-to-end across the manufacturing process to drive operational excellence.

Job Description

You will be part of a collaborative management team, working cross functionally in a varied role with equipment efficiency at the centre of this role. As the Engineering Improvement Manager, you will be ensuring production processes & equipment performance are as efficient as possible. Interacting with leadership across other departments to deliver business improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Improve departmental performance by implementing best practice standards, utilising Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement tools & techniques.
• Support tender, factory acceptance testing, commissioning & validation.
• Seek out & understand new technology and developments, ensuring potential improvements, optimisation & continuous improvement.
• Ensure equipment complies with all applicable laws and standards including safety, quality, sustainability and environment.
• Support site in achieving KPIs, coaching the teams in understanding the OEE & how to get the most out of the process & equipment.
• Lead projects to drive performance improvement when needed.
• Work cross functionally on innovation, capital & R&D projects.

The Successful Applicant

This role is business critical role, suited to an Engineering professional with experience driving CI/Operational Excellence improvement with experience in an FMCG or packaging manufacturing operations & the following:

• An understanding of packaging machinery & processes
• Experience of optimisation and equipment design & implementation
• Proven capability of driving Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Proven track record of driving site KPI improvements
• Demonstrated ability to coach at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally & externally
