Your primary responsibility will be to develop and lead the company's operational strategy. You will focus on driving operational process excellence and ensuring the safety, timeliness, and productivity of our operational colleagues. You must be willing to travel across all our sites located within the Midlands and Northeast.
What you'll be doing
This role will play a key part in developing a standardised network across all divisions of the company. Additionally, you will be accountable for the achievement of the company's strategic objectives within the Service Centres of your division, including the delivery of business programs and optimisation initiatives. In addition to duties, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve division performance through service delivery, people development, and innovation.
- Support the commercial team in achieving sales targets by providing excellent collection and delivery services with client–level SLAs.
- Shape the business by embracing Yodel values and building strategic goals.
- Oversee recruitment, retention, performance, training, and development of the team.
- Ensure health and safety compliance, protect people and assets, and maintain secure operations.
- Drive change, share best practices, and lead strategic projects.
- Foster a customer–centric environment and support key client relationships.
- Manage budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation.
- Ensure operational and legal compliance throughout the division.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as the executive team, COO, support functions, and suppliers.
- Lead a culture that provides an environment that has a clear client and customer focus in providing a right first–time experience.
- Build effective internal relationships with peers and support functions through collaborative working.
What you will need to show us
The successful Divisional Director will be results driven and have proven experience in operational strategy development and leadership. Also, have should have a track record of successfully developing and implementing operational strategies that drive business performance and enhance efficiency. You will have experience leading teams and guiding them towards achieving operational goals. The ideal candidate will also need to possess the following skills/experience:
- Ideally from a logistics or operational background
- Proven experience in operational strategy development and leadership.
- Strong track record in achieving operational excellence and driving performance improvement.
- Excellent people management and development skills.
- Customer–focused mindset and ability to build strong client relationships.
- Financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Ability to drive change and foster innovation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
