Design & Technology Subject Lead at our comprehensive secondary school in Hackney.
Responsibilities:As a Design & Technology Subject Lead, your responsibilities will include: - Lead the Design & Technology Team, ensuring consistently high standards and student achievement in the Subject Area.
- Guarantee exceptional curriculum delivery, well-structured, fostering deep understanding and passion for the subject.
- Conduct high-quality, challenging, and formative performance management for Subject Area staff, addressing underperformance promptly.
- Define and clarify roles and responsibilities within the Subject Area, ensuring appropriateness and understanding.
- Foster outstanding teaching, learning, attainment, and progress, emphasizing impactful marking.
- Stay updated on Design Technology developments, timely introducing changes to course content.
- Ensure high-quality and robust assessment practices within the Subject Area.
- Utilize data effectively to set targets and promptly address underachievement, showcasing a keen understanding of Subject Area effectiveness.
Requirements:To excela s aDesign & Technology Subject Lead role, you should have: - Qualified Teacher Status
- Relevant specialist qualifications and experience in your subject specialism, with the ability to teach up to KS4/5
- Commitment to improving practice through reflection, appropriate professional development and through being open to advice and feedback
- Evidence of continuing professional development or relevant research
- Proven experience as a successful Design & Technology teacher with a track record of achieving outstanding results.
- Leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a leadership role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire students and work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to satisfy all necessary recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
