D6 West is a 24 bed Trauma Orthopedic ward specialising in care of Neck of Femur Fractures. As part of a multidisciplinary team approach including Orthogeriatrics, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Discharge planners and many more we not only address the patients obvious fracture, but we also invesitgate the underlying causes to maximize the patients rehabilitation potential and therefore minimizing their risk of readmission. As a Band 6 nurse on D6 west you will be required to participate in this multidisciplary approach, balancing the needs of the service and the patient to achieve the best outcomes.

As a Band 6 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, you will contribute to the development of the ward team and support the Ward Manager in the delivery of a consistently high quality and cost-effective service and will be expected to deputise for the Ward Manager as required. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike.
We have in house training courses, taught by our senior nurses/ACPs and practice development team. Further to this, you will have access to trust led training modules.
