Bluebird Care
Location
Portsmouth, Hampshire | United Kingdom
Job description
Bluebird Care is looking for Live-in Care Assistants to join our live-in care team and make a difference in our customers' daily lives. Become a live-in care assistant and work across the South of England. Non-drivers are welcome. Earn over £30000 a year and help us keep people in the comfort of their own homes. We do require more than 1-year experience in-home care, or residential care setting. If you are a retired health care professional such as midwives, nurses, occupational therapists, or support workers, then this role could work for you.
Bluebird Care is looking for Live-in Care Assistants to provide 1-to-1 support, to enable vulnerable adults to live independent lives within the comfort of their own homes. Bluebird Care is looking for people who have a passion for caring and who are very hands-on with housekeeping and personal care, meal preparation, and medication support.
You will need to be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
At Bluebird Care, we have a central live-in care team based in Totton, who will find you permanent customers and will allocate your work in a pattern. We prefer if you work with several customers as it will give you variety and also more continuity to our customers. Our work patterns vary depending on customers' needs. If you work with customers with Dementia then we think it is better a rotating pattern of 2 weeks on/off. If you have a customer who still likes to go out and is mobile, then depending on how you get on, you might stay up to 8 weeks in and have two two-week break. We would also like to attract live-in carers who drive as our customers still enjoy being taken out.
Our customers live predominantly in the New Forest areas such as Lymington, Sway, New Milton, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Totton, Portsmouth and Southampton areas. Our team will help you with logistics and support you throughout.
A career as a Live-in Care Assistant is incredibly rewarding for both you and your customer. You could make a huge difference in someone else’s life! We would want you to have experience of looking after people as this role is not easy and can be lonely. So your mental agility needs to be able to cope with not socialising with your friends but interacting with an older person and their families. Our live-in care assistants have all one thing in common; they are switched on, hands-on, attentive, and caring about the welfare of our customers.
What would you do daily?
You will move in with the customer and stay with them for a minimum of 4 weeks up to 8 weeks. You build a rapport with the customer and support them through the day with getting up or going to bed, washing and personal care, medication needs, meal preparation, and companionship. Often you would be running the housekeeping overall. Eventually, you could end up with more complex caring for which we will train you.
We offer amazing benefits to all our carers including:
- An excellent monthly pay (depending on the customer’s level of care)
- Access to Hasteepay, which is a system that allows you access to earlier your worked salary
- Free pre-employment training of 4 days
- Flexible work patterns living in a customer’s home for from 4 weeks or 2 months at a time, with daily 2-hour breaks and time off between placements.
- Opportunities for further training courses in Health and Social Care.
- Use of iPad or Mobile Phone to Record daily care notes
- 24/7 support from our office team and regular supervision
- Accommodation and food paid whilst on assignments
- Access to healthcare scheme with benefits up to £1300
- Work Pension
- Discount/free food
