Job description

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based HR Team.

The successful post holder will move on to the Trainee Lecturer programme to achieve the required DET qualification (for posts of greater than a 0.5 fraction).

Job Purpose

To deliver theory and practical elements to level 1, level 2 and level 3 students within the construction department.

The post holders will ensure the provision is learner focussed, ensures academic excellence, high quality learning and an outstanding student experience which reflects the principles of the personalised curriculum and contributes to the achievement of the College’s strategic and development plans. This post is for a lecturer whose primary skills are in light vehicle chassis, engine, electrical and transmission systems. The post holder will have vehicle mechanical and electrical knowledge.

For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre-employment checks, to include but not limited to: DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).

Essential Attainments:

● GCSE grade A-C or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.
● Ability to teach Key/Functional Skills.
● Ability to develop and maintain high quality education and training programmes.
● Administrative skills, including IT skills.
● A willingness to undertake continuing professional development.
● A willingness to be trained as an assessor and verifier.
● Evidence of formal structured training, e.g. an apprenticeship.
● Previous experience of teaching at the relevant level and subject is desirable.
● Relevant subject qualification and practical experience.
● Be flexible with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
● Relevant teaching qualification or willing to work towards.
● Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and
other software applications.
● Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
