Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a heavy engineering company to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its Matlock facility.

Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance duties on a variety of machinery and equipment.

The company is looking for a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with experience working in a medium to heavy engineering environment, with a flexible attitude, able to work under pressure and continuously looking for ways to improve.

Other duties of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer include the following:

  • Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed on time and to the required standards
  • Use of root cause analysis to identify the true cause of failures and report corrective action
  • Improve plant overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by ensuring issues are dealt with swiftly with an effective first-time fix
  • Ensure all departmental documentation is completed on time and to company standards
  • Develop the PPM system for key items of the plant in conjunction with the maintenance planner to improve plant OEE
  • Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment
  • Rapid response to customer demand with a quick diagnosis of the issue and an effective fix
  • Develop and recommend solutions to improve equipment availability for the Maintenance 
    Manager
  • Ensure all work undertaken is carried out as per the company’s safety rules and procedures, including the undertaking of risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work and safe lock-off procedures
  • Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Cooperate readily on the development and implementation of the autonomous maintenance trusted platform module (TPM).

To be successful in the role, the  Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering
  • Able to read mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic engineering drawings
  • Able to logically fault-find
  • Experience working with lock out, tag out procedures
  • Experience working with a computerised maintenance management system
  • High level of understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Experience working with computer numerical control machines, lathes, non-destructive testing processes or in the forge industry
  • Basic fabrication experience.

Shift:

  • 12-hour bespoke shifts.
