Key Responsibilities
PRE-JOB PLANNING & PROJECT READINESS
- Provide first point of contact, office-based engineering support for MPD operations, and have presence at the rig or client office as required.
- Responsible for MPD drawings including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Process Flow diagrams (PFD’s), Safety, Zoning etc.
- Prepare well specific drilling program including :
- Perform hydraulic models for drilling windows.
- Prepare the well control matrix.
- Write, review & revise drilling procedures.
- Write and review finger-printing procedures.
- Write and review Rig-up and Pressure Test procedures.
- Assist and support during the HAZID/HAZOP exercise.
- Attend all pre-spud meetings, DWOP’s, and any other planning meetings.
- Training client engineers and rig crew as required.
- Perform well displacement programs.
- Develop a surge & swab model with MPD application.
- Plan for liner runs with MPD and develop Managed Pressure Cementing (MPC) programs.
- Prepare the pre-job folder for the MPD field crew containing relevant information including but not limited to the Program, Procedures and OEPS documents.
- Assist with the planning, execution, review and approval for rig visits (onshore/offshore), reports and related flow process diagrams and P&ID’s.
PROJECT EXECUTION
- For each stage, attend all client/operational meetings as required.
- Provide first point of contact for any MPD engineering related requirements.
- Provide support during critical MPD operation including but not limited to; fingerprinting, Kick/Loss situations etc.
- Revise procedures accordingly based on lessons learned, Client specific requests or as a result of a MOC.
- Review MPD data on a daily basis and issue corrective/preventative advice as required.
- Responsible for deep data analysis of MPD events.
- Provide MPD HMI (Victus) data review daily (core function) resulting in quicker corrective actions.
- Update hydraulic modelling analysis based on actual drilling conditions.
- Update the well control matrix through Kick simulation with actual drilling data.
- Update of all the programs including but not limited to; well displacement models, liner running with MPD, MPC, etc.
- As required, request GBU support, advice and experience.
- Raise a Management of Change (MoC) for any engineering deviations.
- Raise Weatherford Interactive Search Engine (WISE) queries for engineering-related matters.
- Archive all the job information at the appropriate location on WPTS/SharePoint.
- Responsible for managing the job tracker to monitor performance and record KPI’s.
PROJECT COMPLETION
- Responsible to archive job folders and save data accordingly.
- Prepare After Action Review (AAR) presentations and review with the client.
- Prepare the End of Well (EoW) report for the operation.
- Perform post well analysis to optimize future well planning.
- Prepare technical abstract and paper for publication.
- Manage regional lessons learned data base.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- 3-4 years of experience in oil and gas engineering.
- Must be eligible for, or have legal authorisation to work on a full-time basis in the region.
- Must be willing to travel to remote land and offshore work locations and possibly to other countries as well as the ability to travel internally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office products and Project Management software.
Preferred
- 3-4 years experience in Managed Pressure Drilling, including well planning software.
