Job Description
The key responsibilities of a Payroll Specialist include, but may not be limited to:
- Support the Management Team in respect of all matters relating to the delivery of the payroll/pension functions as well as providing day-to-day operational management
- To be up-to-date in respect of relevant national trends, regulations, policy and legislation
- To produce highly accurate and timely payroll/pension functions by evaluating delivery and providing advice or intervention where required.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate accounting and control measures in accordance with statutory, audit and financial reconciliation needs.
- Drive a culture of high-quality, right-first-time excellence across the service
- Deliver mentoring, training and skills transfer to the organisation and wider service.
- Teams and individuals that supports operational effectiveness, compliance Process all aspects of pension and expenses administration.
- Follow processes and procedures carefully to ensure compliance.
The Successful Applicant
The successful a Payroll Specialist should possess:
- Public Sector and Government background
- Knowledge of pay procedures and statutory legislation
- Experience of working in payroll department
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer input and the use of spreadsheets.
- Exceptional IT skills
- The ability to form and maintain positive relationships with a wide spectrum of people.
- Ability to commute to Trafford.
