Job description

What will you be doing? 

Below is a list of responsibilities the successful candidate will action: 

Managing a small team of Application support analysts.

Deliver 2rd line support on a variety of applications of which some are business critical.  

Coordinate third party suppliers to deliver projects, bugs fixes and system improvements. Some out of hours meetings will be required due to a supplier being located outside of the UK.  

Completing regular compliance requirements and annual checks for all applications within the portfolios.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships. 

Business partner for selected portfolios within the business and provide support to deliver Roadmaps for Technical improvements. 

Lead the planning and delivery for small projects ensuring the full project management methodology is utilised. 

Delivering projects on-time, within scope and within the allocated budget. 

Provide Business Analysis skills to tease out business requirements. 

Supporting critical applications within the Order to Cash processes, CRM tools and SharePoint. 

Managing risks and threats for the successful delivery of applications and projects.

Manage financial acumen to manage an application portfolio spend of approx. £900k across 7 key suppliers. 

Manage existing suppliers to their SLA commitment and undertake full contract management for existing and potential new suppliers. 

What are we looking for?  

You would ideally have: 

Experience of team management, workload prioritisation, performance management and talent development. 

5 years’ experience with application support and offering 2nd line support. 

Strong communication skills in both verbal and written. 

Knowledge of the ITIL framework for incident, problem and change management. 

Skills to manage 3rd party suppliers with deliverables and budgets. 

Experience of managing small IT projects. 

Able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management. 

Experience working within Agile Methodology.

Knowledge of systems within the order to cash process, CRM tools. 

Experience of working with SAP would be an advantage. 

Enthusiasm to develop application knowledge in new areas. 

Knowledge of the railway industry is not explicitly required although would be beneficial.
