What you’ll be doing

To be responsible for the analysis and control of all credit risk related activities. 

To manage risk exposure in line with the Risk Appetite of the Group.

To develop and maintain a team of analysts to meet the company’s risk management requirements.

To develop and implement credit and lending strategy to support business growth within the Group’s overall business strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

The Head of Credit Risk is responsible for

• developing appropriate risk strategies necessary to manage risk to stated risk appetite levels
• due diligence for portfolio purchases, individual large loans and structured lending facilities
• portfolio risk management:
  • oversight of portfolio performance
  • oversight of customer risk profiles and trends
• ensuring the optimal decisions systems are successfully utilised at appropriate stages of accounts life cycle
• ensuring the credit risk framework is communicated and applied across all business streams
• credit risk reporting
• the development, implementation and monitoring of credit policy across the Group
• passing and maintaining the requirements of the Relevant Regulator’s ‘fit and proper test’ as required by Senior Managers Regime/ Certification Regime
• adherence to the Individual Conduct Rules as part of the Senior Managers Regime/ Certification Regime as detailed below
• taking ownership and maintaining of own Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Log as part of the Senior Managers Regime/ Certification Regime

About You

Key Skills

The individual must:

• have an in-depth understanding of credit risk across the account life cycle
• an extensive knowledge of the underwriting process and be able to operate a senior underwriting mandate
• have an extensive knowledge of credit risk management techniques
• be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities
• have excellent verbal and written communication skills
