Job Title: Care Assistant
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Norwich
Days and hours of work: 36 hours a week – shift pattern 7am-7pm
Start Date: Immediately
Salary/ Hourly rate: £19,880
DUE TO RURAL LOCATION - DRIVING LICENSE IS ESSENTIAL

Our client is looking for enthusiastic care assistants to join the team and to contribute to the excellent care they provide.
THE ROLE
As a care assistant you will collaborate with fellow staff members to meet the personal care requirements of residents, prioritising individual dignity, independence, and freedom of choice. Contribute to the maintenance of residents' physical environment and engage in daily activities while being attuned to their unique needs and personalised care styles. Undertake delegated responsibilities for residents under your care as assigned.
• Assist residents with dressing and undressing regularly or as needed.
• Support residents in daily personal activities, including grooming, washing, bathing (utilising hoist if necessary), and hair washing.
• Complete accountability charts, fluid charts, turn charts, and other relevant documentation accurately. Report any observed skin problems or changes to the Senior Care Assistant or relevant team member.
• Aid residents with physical disabilities in using personal aids and equipment, ensuring adherence to training protocols and risk assessments.
• Assist with continence needs and maintain accurate records. Adhere to infection control protocols.
• Engage residents in conversations and shared activities such as reading, writing, hobbies, and recreation.
• Encourage residents to participate in group activities.
• Comply with all company rules, policies, and procedures, including statutory requirements.
• Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and confidentiality to residents and relatives.
• Greet visitors in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner, promoting a positive image of the company and the home in the local community.
• Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, residents, and relatives.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
• Willingness to expand on knowledge and undertake training.
• Enthusiasm for working with and caring in a home setting.
• The ability to interact and create a good relationship.
• Good communicator with basic computer skills
• Physically capable of engaging in activities.
