Job description
The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly committed and enthusiastic teacher to lead a team of tutors in supporting the achievement, behaviour and spiritual welfare of pupils in their year group.
The person appointed will lead a team of eight tutors. He/she will be expected to attend regular pastoral care team meetings with the other Pastoral Leaders and will lead his/her own tutor meetings. He/she will be expected to lead a cohesive team who want the best for all pupils in their care. He/she will not only lead on strengthening wellbeing but will be responsible for monitoring the progress of his/her year group.
Support for all Pastoral Leaders is provided by the Senior Assistant Principal responsible for overseeing pastoral matters who liaises with him/her about the year group. Working alongside the Pastoral Leaders, we have a Lay Chaplain, Year Co-ordinators, Teaching Assistants, a Counsellor and a Pastoral Support Manager.
The position of Pastoral Leader is a stimulating and rewarding post for an energetic and caring person. The successful candidate will have proven management, organisational and communication skills together with strong discipline and interpersonal skills. They will be committed to pupil wellbeing and be united in our goal to ensure a happy, inclusive place to come to school. Induction and support will be provided for the successful candidate. He/she will be encouraged to participate in a range of professional development activities. Please note it is not an expectation that the candidate is Catholic but a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school is.
