Strategic Development Officer
Permanent, Part Time
Up to £39,680 per annum FTE
Location: Chelmsford

Please note this is a part time position working 18 hours per week. The pro rata salary will be up to £19,303.78 per annum.
The role could be required to cover any district across Essex as business need requires. This can be discussed in further detail at the interview stage.
As the Strategic Development Officer, you will form part of a team delivering the Council’s Strategic Development service across Essex, securing and co-ordinating privately funded highways and transportation infrastructure in conjunction with the planning process, to meet the challenges of delivering the Local Planning Authority’s targets for housing and employment in Essex. This role will assess new minor development proposals, negotiate and obtain funding for new infrastructure, and deliver the highest quality public space. Accountabilities:

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
