Job Title: Secondary SEMH Individual Needs Assistant

Are you passionate about providing tailored support to secondary students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to join our team and provide essential support within our school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with identified students to provide one-on-one support tailored to their specific SEMH needs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
• Support students in managing emotions, addressing behavioural challenges, and developing coping strategies.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for each student.
• Monitor and record progress, offering feedback and guidance to support student development.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with secondary students with SEMH needs, ideally within a school or similar setting.
• Understanding of SEMH issues and the ability to implement strategies to address individual student needs.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teaching staff, external professionals, and parents or guardians.
• An enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
