SF Recruitment are working with a business based in Coventry who are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join the team

£45,000 - £52,000

Role overview and purpose
The role of the Health Safety and Environmental Manager ensures adherence to legal requirements and maintaining a safe working environment across our distribution centres and operations. This position necessitates an individual with confidence, expertise, and the ability to influence stakeholders. The SHE Manager be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies as well as fostering a positive culture of Health and Safety and offer professional advice and practical guidance to all departments.

Responsibilities and objectives
- Provide expert health, safety and environmental advice and knowledge to the business.
- Implement and oversee initiatives to optimise energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprint, and minimise waste generation, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices.
- Lead the Environment workstream as part of our ESG agenda.
- Foster a positive and proactive safety culture through engagement and accountability.
- Monitoring, evaluating and reviewing existing, new and upcoming health and safety and environmental legislation and ensuring the business has systems, policies and practices in place to meet legal compliance.
- Support the development of measurement systems to ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental performance are accurately monitored.
- Carrying out management system audits and inspections and managing a program of corrective/preventative actions for continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards in technical competence and safe working practices are met.
- Ensuring that existing certifications and standards are maintained for ISO.
- Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and record the findings and implement changes.
- Conduct training, toolbox talks and inductions
- Act as a role model and a champion for SHE

Qualifications and Experience - Desirable
- Proven experience in a similar health, safety, and environmental management role.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent NVQ Level 6 Diploma).
- CertIOSH (certified member of IOSH) or a member of IIRSM.
- Practitioner member of IEMA (PIEMA)
Qualifications and Experience - Would consider
- A NEBOSH General Certificate with evidence of working towards Diploma level.
- TechIOSH (a technical member of IOSH) and working towards CertIOSH.
- Associate member of IEMA (AIEMA) (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment)
