Location - Falkirk
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Director for our leading Manufacturing Facility in Falkirk.

Your dream role:
You will have a track record of operational and general management together with leading successful multi-functional teams to achieve business results through Quality, Cost and Delivery
Reporting directly to the UK Operations Director, you will lead and be responsible for the Manufacturing Operations of the core site and support Third Party Manufacturing Operations.
You will have direct responsibility for the core functions of: Production, Health & Safety and Supply Chain.
Engineering, Finance, Quality and HR management is also integral to the role but within a matrix model supported by these functions.
Delivering organisational performance, change and continuous improvement whilst working collaboratively across the business, ensuring the ADL Vision and Values shape the working environment under their span of control.
Key Tasks:
The role will lead on:
- Efficient resource utilisation
- Embedding and sustaining the ADL Team Values and Brand Values
- Inter-functional collaboration and interoperability
- Development, implementation and sustainment of Health and Safety standards, processes and results
- Cost, Quality and Delivery in line with business plans
- Financial, budgetary and cost control management for the facility and cost of sales
- Development of effective processes and review mechanisms to constantly challenge costs of production to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain and enhance the business flexibility in all functions and levels.
- Continued cost reduction in hours of build and materials
- Ensuring production targets are achieved to the required customer quality standard in order to meet profit and working capital targets.
- Improving product reliability and customer service levels
- Enhancing the lean manufacturing principles to all areas of the business unit
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment
- Performance against the business unit’s KPI’s
- Team development, motivation and retention
- Active involvement in creating a Quality culture through process and behavioural improvements.
What you will bring:
You will be an Operations Leader who is able to demonstrate success within an engineered product manufacturing business, who has Operations / Production as their cornerstone capability and has broadened their sphere of influence and accountability.
- Experience within operations management within a role of similar size and scope’ and ‘Proven senior managerial experience in a manufacturing environment’
- Degree qualified in a relevant manufacturing / engineering / business discipline.
- Proven track record in operational and / or site leadership of multi- functional teams
- Experience in systems and processes development and designing high performance organisational structures.
- A track record of bottom line engineered product delivery
- Evidence of hiring and developing high performance talent
- Financially astute with understanding of balance sheet, P&L, overhead management and operating cash flow
- Customer focused.
- Organisational and planning skills
- Proficient knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques
- Ability to unite cross functional teams in the strive to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Experience of working in a heavily unionised environment
- Evidence of achievement in a demanding, fast paced organisation
