Job description
To assist the PACS Manager in the management of the Radiology Information System (CRIS), Insignia PACS (Picture Archiving Communications System) and any other appropriate systems as implemented. The post holder will be responsible for administrative and general support to the PACS Manager and other key staff, coordinating workload and the strategic development of the Directorate. To be a Master Trainer for relevant Clinical Imaging Systems. The post holder will be expected to resolve day-to-day problems independently and will act as the first point of contact for enquiries from users and third parties. Represent the PACS Manager in their absence, e.g. attend meetings and filter enquiries to relevant management levels. In addition the post holder will: Provide support to users on clinical systems including fault diagnosis and resolution, answering queries or requests and guiding users. To effectively prioritise their workload to ensure critical areas are responded to in a timely manner. Liaise with any third party supplier support teams and progress issues. Provide consultancy support on Clinical applications and assist users to improve their processes in combination with software use. Attend meetings and user groups regarding Clinical software within Cornwall Healthcare Community as required. Ensure that system security is always maintained and in accordance with the Trust policies and procedures escalating any issues to the CI Systems Manager. Undertake activities required to identify and amend areas of poor data entry and inform users of the correct procedures. Monitor and maintain the software systems to ensure they run at their optimum level and any system down time is minimised. Maintain an extensive working knowledge of the software systems their connections and the ways they are applied in the NHS workplace. Liaise with necessary personnel on any critical problems and issues as necessary. Assisting in implementation of system projects and upgrades into the live environment with the assistance of senior team members. It may be necessary for the post holder to work as part of an on-call rota and participate in flexible working hours in order to provide extended or out of hours support to Cornwall Healthcare Community. Produce procedures and protocols on software applications regarding system support and administration in order to maintain standards. Provide support and training to fellow team members on new system functionality in order to develop skills. To participate in maintaining an accurate database that records activity, system errors and trials creation. To undertake confidential investigations into issues when required. Run statistical reports within systems to extract accurate data for analysis. Assist other PACS team members with day to day administration tasks where necessary. In addition, the post holder will carry out any other duties as agreed by the Imaging Systems Manager
