Head of Home  Barton Moss Secure Care Centre

Grade: 4B + 2 increments for weekend working - £46,464 - £49,498 Plus secure unit allowance of £1,017 per annum

Working Hours: 36

Contract Type: Permanent

Barton Moss is a 27 bed Secure Care Centre located in Eccles on the outskirts of Salford Greater Manchester within easy reach of the M60 and wider motorway network.  It has 5 residential units which care for young men within the youth justice system.  Barton Moss is first and foremost a children’s home that happens to be secure, it is a truly ‘special’ and unique place to work and opportunities like this are rare.  The Centre has a proven track record offering a very high standard of care with modern facilities that encourage young people’s educational development, emotional health and personal wellbeing.  The centre has achieved ten Outstanding Ofsted reports.  

We are looking for a Head of Home to lead an exceptional frontline practice in one of the secure homes within the centre, with a commitment for improving the lives and futures of the young people in its care. You will be comfortable making decisions on behalf of the organization, be involved in strategic decision making within the service and ensure the service is fulfilling all of its statutory functions, adhering to Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations, and fulfilling the contract of the Youth Custody Service (YCS)

You will be highly motivated, with a strong social care background with the ability to effectively lead and inspire staff through the provision of strong, forward thinking and values bases leadership and management. You will have a high degree of inter-personal skills to work effectively across the service, wider organisations and external partner agencies.

The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £9.50 per month.
