The roleThe ideal candidate would be excited by the prospect of working in a company where every member of staff at all levels has real opportunities to make a difference.
This position will suit a junior analyst looking for real experience in a business dedicated to being data-led, or someone with a desire to begin a career in analytics. The successful candidate will gain experience in how to scope out requests, work with stakeholders and deliver results that drive change.
Responsibilities
· Complete data tasks that help stakeholders deliver in their roles by understanding their issues and providing relevant data/information
· Support teams across the business in furthering their understanding of data and how to use it by answering questions, providing instruction or producing simple documentation
· Build new reports using SQL for key areas of the business
· Maintain the existing suite of SQL reports, ensuring data accuracy and that the reports are still providing value
· Create interactive dashboards and visualisations in Qlik Sense to help the key stakeholders self-serve
· Perform maintenance and BAU tasks such as ensuring a smooth run through of the overnight data loads and granting user access
· Support with the creation and maintenance of reporting and automated procedures documentation
· Contribute to data efficiency and quality by improving over night data load processes, reporting solutions and other continuous improvement activities
· Complete small analysis projects to answer stakeholder queries and to work alongside stakeholders on business issues and opportunities
Requirements
· Strong aptitude for problem solving
· Methodical approach and attention to detail
· Comfortable working alongside a variety of teams from Design to Operational
· Boundless curiosity
· A graduate in a relevant degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science etc) or practical experience in a similar role
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Desirable skills, experience and attributes
· Experience working with SQL
· Practiced in using business intelligence tools e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos etc.
· Understanding of database design
