SENCO Assistant
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated SENCO Assistant to support the Assistant Head Teacher in overseeing the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating SEN support, maintaining records, and liaising with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the needs of SEND students are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Assistant Head Teacher in coordinating provision for students with SEND.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of SEN provision, progress, and interventions.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide support to teachers in differentiating instruction and adapting resources for SEND students.
- Assist in the organization and delivery of SEN-related training and professional development for staff.
- Contribute to the development and review of the school's SEN policy and practices.
Requirements: - Previous experience working with students with SEND in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in SEN provision.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting the diverse needs of all students.
