Job description

Are you an ex-army worker, police officer or security seeking a career change? Are you passionate about changing the lives young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health conditions (SEMH)? Look no further!

A well-established school in North Yorkshire that caters for children and young people aged 9-16 is looking for a Young Offenders Support Worker to join their growing team. The school can offer a full-time placement, Monday to Friday to commence after the February half term with a hope of securing a permanent role.

The children at this school all have SEMH along with mild to severe challenging behaviour, so the school is looking for a Young Offenders Support Worker who is able to build a strong rapport with their pupils and act as a positive role model.

As a Young Offenders Support Worker, your roles and responsibilities will be:

* To support the class teacher with the day-to-day running of their lessons.
* To support with behaviour management and utilise Team Teach skills when needed.
* To promote the positives and value of education to encourage the children to be engaged during their lessons.
* To help make the school a safe place for both pupils and staff and protect the social and emotional well-being of the children.

Holding a driving license would be required for this role due to the secluded location of the school and public transport does not operate in this area.
