Industrial Sewing Machinist
Pertemps Reading are currently recruiting for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join a reputable client based in Reading.
As an Industrial Sewing Machinist you will be required to work 30 hours per week (working hours are negotiable).
Skills and experience required for a successful Industrial Sewing Machinist:
Experienced with use of industrial sewing machines and upholstery
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work closely with cutter and upholstery staff to achieve required results
Good understanding of sewing techniques e.g. piping, twin needling, top stitching;
Able to sew with a wide variety of commercial fabric types
Ability to troubleshoot sewing related issues
Ability to modify work to resolve assembly issues as required
Ability to work to deadlines
Ability to meet quality standards
A flexible attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Experience with upholstery is not essential but the confident use of an industrial sewing machine is a must. Our client will consider applicants with sewing experience in similar sectors like, soft furnishing, curtains or cushions, who are interested in making the move into upholstery. You will be self-motivated with a keen eye for detail, pride in your work and a proactive approach to learning new skills.
