ROLE SUMMARY:
St Anthony’s School for Boys is looking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of French from September 2024. The post-holder should be prepared to teach all year groups from Reception up to and including Year 6. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers or those new to the profession.
St Anthony’s aims to instil a love of learning and capture young, inquiring minds. The post-holder will be an outstanding practitioner using a range of teaching methods and resources to promote knowledge and understanding of the French language. The school is looking to integrate digital learning into the traditional curriculum and the successful candidate will be enthusiastic about deploying technology to maximise learning outcomes.
The teacher of French will be line managed by the Head of Languages and work alongside the teachers of Latin. It would be an advantage for candidates to offer a second language in addition to French. The successful candidate may be delegated by the Head of Faculty responsibility for certain year groups or Key Stages, which will be important for professional and career development. The Faculty system allows for language teachers, irrespective of their specialism, to share good practice with each other whilst promoting a sense of common endeavour.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, 8.30am until 4.30pm.
Salary: Dependent on skills and experience, and in accordance with the Alpha Plus Pay Scale.

Teachers should be able to demonstrate that, as a result of their teaching, their pupils achieve well relative to the pupils’ prior attainment. This could be shown in marks or grades in any relevant standardised tests or school-based assessments or through samples of work.
