Our client specialise in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of home pregnancy and fertility testing products. The company is well-known for its range of over-the-counter (OTC) diagnostic tests designed to provide accurate and user-friendly results for women's health and reproductive needs.
Job Description
Based in Bedford, this opportunity will sit within our clients In-House Legal & Compliance department and will report into the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer (GC & CCO) who is based in Geneva.
Key responsibilities will include: - Acting as a business partner and building relationships with the internal client group, providing business-oriented practical solutions in a timely manner, remaining firm on compliance issues with solutions based on policy and ethics in a timeline-driven fashion.
- Connecting and reporting regularly to the team for a united legal approach, whilst acting independently and handling issues within areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will identify issues and report them to the Legal team with a proposal for concrete and prioritised solutions to implement, with (if needed) advice and prevention plan or risk assessment.
- Compliance documentation: supporting internal clients on contract management, privacy, and regular corporate documents or marketing materials; creating, updating or contributing to templates as requested or aligned; draft basic agreements and handle correspondences, powers of attorney or other documents as required.
- Implementing internal guidance, policy or external legal advice received and translating them into company policies or practice.
- Offering process simplification in Ensur or other systems as applicable for legal processes to be easy to understand for all internal clients.
- Develop, and conduct legal and compliance training.
- Specific projects in the health/medical device law.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant willbe a qualified solicitor/lawyer or legal professional with at least 2 years post-qualification experience, with:
- A proven track record in successfully handling basic legal and compliance issues, including without limitation: system administration, review, drafting and negotiating contracts; issue management; expertise to give practical advice that is precise and accurate with attention to detail.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail operating document management systems.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as a team player with a results driven attitude.
- Keen interest in the health business and health laws/regulations and a desire to learn and to stay updated with legal/business developments.
- Communication skills that include the ability to communicate in non-legal language.
- Able to successfully establish and grow relationships taking into consideration the international environment and different cultures.
- Willingness and ability to personally learn from experience, acquire new skills, and reflect relevant parts of learning into internal training for organisational growth in parallel with action plan proposals.
- Computer literate and familiar with all typical Microsoft, Google, Apple applications, at ease with digital developments and document management systems and at ease working a Quality Management environment of health products.
