The Opportunity

This is a newly created role in our growing procurement team which will work in close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the proactive and effective end-to-end management of all procurement and commercial requirements for Energy. You’ll be working closely with the Business Excellence and Sustainability teams to negotiate and drive a pipeline of private wire PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) opportunities across our estate and will have close alignment with the Holcim Global and European Energy team to deliver strong results. This role is crucial in helping AI meet its sustainability targets.

This is a category with spend of £100m, across 60 suppliers, covering 250 Aggregate Industry and associate JV business locations

It’s important that you have the flexibility to travel as you’ll need to attend collaborative meetings in the Bardon Hill, Coalville office, at the locations the projects are being delivered and with suppliers 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Who are you?

We’re looking for an experienced procurement professional, ideally with expertise in Category Management for Power and Gas and with knowledge and experience of both Corporate and Private Wire PAA’s.

You’ll be used to drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions and presenting business cases and strategy recommendations to Board level. Able to lead & manage multiple priorities / projects effectively & efficiently without compromise to quality, you’ll have an ability to influence and execute change at pace, with the gravitas to influence at all levels of management

With experience in drafting and the development of performance metrics (SLAs and KPIs), you’ll

be comfortable drafting tender documentation and assisting end users in drafting and developing specifications, statements of work etc...
