Geotechnical Engineer
Sheffield
£32,000 - £42,000
Currently looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to come into my client's business in Sheffield. They specialise in multiple engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive design solutions to their clients, nationwide, across the life cycle of projects .
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geography or Civil Engineering.
- Whilst a postgraduate degree is not a requirement it is something to be desired.
- Should be working towards professional development with ICE, Geological Society or a similar professional body.
Role & Responsibilities
- Visiting sites to carry out, examine, and/or supervise trial pitting, soak-away testing, supervise borehole investigations, verify capping, etc.
- Supervising construction activity, which may include examining foundations, drilling and grouting mine workings, earthworks, or remediation of hazardous sites.
- Creating Phase 1 and 2 geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation reports.
- Creating coal mining risk evaluations, earthworks strategies, verification reports, etc.
- Liaise with clients, regulators, site crew, and other employees within the organisation.
- Guiding geotechnical parameters for foundation design, slope stability, etc.
- Conducting thorough quantitative risk assessments.
