Job description
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced School Nurse to be a part of our Health Centre team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting health and well-being in young people, and will be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including pupils, staff, parents, and external healthcare professionals.
Wycliffe is a thriving day and boarding school for boys and girls aged from 3 to 18, set within the heart of the Cotswolds. The School Nurse will be responsible for working with the wider pastoral team across the college to support the medical and general health needs of the school’s pupils.
This is a permanent position offered on a part-time basis, term-time only to start in April 2024.
Working hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday, and one of either Tuesday or Wednesday, and one in three weekends. Each mid-week has four clinical shifts of 8½ hours. Monday, Thursday and Friday, will be early shifts; there is flexibility to work either an early or a late shift on the Tuesday or Wednesday.
Other essential hours include regular team meetings and some on-call working.
The salary for this role is based on Band 6 NHS Agenda for Change for 35 weeks per year – full holiday pay of 5.6 weeks is also included. Special rates are paid for call-outs and sleep ins when needed. The nurses also work 4 days over the summer holiday; there is flexibility around these days.
