Job Description:
Tara are working with an independent school in South Shropshire who are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This position offers part-time employment with the potential for permanency, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a flexible teaching role within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the diverse needs and abilities of students aged 11-18.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and academic achievement.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to effectively engage students in the study of English language and literature.
- Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum enhancements, instructional best practices, and enrichment activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and behavior, in accordance with school policies and procedures..
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English Literature, Education, or related field .
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience teaching English language and literature at the secondary level
- Strong knowledge of curriculum standards, educational trends, and instructional methodologies relevant to English education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities to achieve academic success.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes respect for all individuals.
