Junior Garment Technologist

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with design / product development to ensure consistent fit and quality across the collection
- Maintain digital tech packs for all styles
- Maintain seasonal sample tracker / chase in next samples
- Create and maintain physical development folder for each season
- Liaise with external pattern cutter to develop patterns for new shapes
- Maintain pattern library, and ensure that factories are using the latest / correct version
- Issue colour standards and communicate lab dips approvals
- Organize and attend fit meetings; compile weekly fit lists and liaise with design for fit sessions. Ensure all garments are labelled, measured / prepped in advance / previous comments are on hand and have been applied.
- Write up fit comments and sent to suppliers, ensuring these are clear and easy to follow, including images and annotations
- Create graded size charts for all styles, and share with factories and ecommerce
- Define care label content and approve care label submits
- Liaise with marketing / ecommerce to ensure correct samples are shot / they are aware of any incorrect details
- Liaise with QC and the warehouse to understand and respond to any quality issues
- Returns; identify any styles where returns are linked to size or fabrication and work to resolve for any re-orders
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, specialising in menswear and ideally at a similar market level
- Able to work across product categories: knit/woven/jersey/outerwear
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting and grading and experience working with external suppliers and factories.
- Organized and methodical, with great attention to detail.
- Must possess strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Proficient with Excel and llustrator
