Job Title: Patient Eyewear Advisor

Reporting to: Patient Eyewear Team Leader

Salary: £21,313.40 per annum + commission

Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary

Last year we delivered over 220,000 domiciliary clinics for older people in their own homes, as well as in care homes and sheltered housing. This life-changing service operates right across the UK, supporting the NHS to provide vital eye and hearing care to people who may struggle to get to the high street unaided.

We have identified both the need and opportunity to scale the service over the next few years. To do this we are building on our strengths, expanding our capabilities, and continually seeking to improve what we do and how we do it to better serve our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Eyewear Advisor to join our private eyewear team.

The main function of the Patient Eyewear Advisor is to liaise with our privately funded customers and/or their next of kin over the telephone to discuss their change in prescriptions and convert prospective orders into sales in an ethical manner, in line with our company values.

The Patient Eyewear Advisor plays a major part in supporting the clinical team to improve the quality of service provided to our customers and ensuring we run efficient and profitable clinics.

Principle Accountabilities

• Discuss the outcomes of sight tests with our patients and their next of kin.
• Liaise with care homes about the sight test clinic one of our opticians has conducted.
• Convert sales of spectacles/glasses in line with targets
• Deliver a first-class customer experience.
• Follow our company’s health, safety and environmental policies, guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Be familiar with office security measures, ensuring data is secured.
• Report any incidents in the workplace immediately.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Proven track record in a sales role is a must – ideally B2C.
• Experience working in optics; is also required dispensing opticians, optical assistants, sales advisor in store / the ability to converse about spectacles and lenses is essential.
• Customer orientation and the ability to adapt to different types of characters with empathy and patience.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families at all times.
• Ability to work to targets and problem solve.
• Prioritise workload and pay attention to needs and concerns.
• Good administration & computer skills are required, displaying accuracy at all times.
• Positive attitude & a team player
• 3+ years sales experience
• Telesales or in practice experience preferrable
• Prior experience of health care or optical industry desirable
• Good influencing and negotiation skills
• Desire to drive continual improvement
• Ability to use a range of Microsoft packages to a competent standard
