On joining our scheme in September 2024 as a Project Engineer in our N uclear Power business, you’ll rapidly gain knowledge of how our company works and the impact that you can have to help us move towards a more connected and sustainable world.
About the opportunities
At Jacobs, our Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to prestigious projects including Hinkley Point C (new build power station in the South West ), Sizewell C ( located in the South East ), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small Modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland’s first Nuclear Power station.
Jacobs’ Nuclear Power and Engineering Technical Services (NPETS) business supports our key client’s UK nuclear fleet through business transformation and by supporting new small modular reactor developers. Our work is varied, covering Generation, Life Extension and Defueling.
Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle and delivering safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
As a Graduate Project Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating the various engineering, construction, purchasing, scheduling and start up aspects of a project, or responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering portion of a project across all or specific disciplines, supporting the Engineering Manager. You may also be supporting the Project Manager to manage profit and loss on projects delivering engineering solutions to clients’ problems and requirements. At each stage of the project, you will have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge, delivering on some of the most critical nuclear projects in Power, Defence, Decommissioning , as well as industry leading new technologies supporting the countries drive towards net zero.
