Operating Department Practitioner
Anaesthetic & Recovery Practitioner

Macclesfield

Permanent

£35k - £42k depending on experience

Join our dynamic and supportive team as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) specializing in Anaesthetic & Recovery. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting patients undergoing various elective procedures across a range of specialties, including General, Thoracic, Spinal, Neurological, Orthopaedic, Laparoscopic, Ophthalmic, Gynaecology, and Urology.
Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare operating theatres and anaesthetic rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies are in place while minimizing waste.
- Complete patient records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Run theatre lists independently, demonstrating competency and efficiency.
- Assist in assessing patients' health and well-being, delivering care tailored to their individual needs.
- Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives by collecting, organizing, and interpreting data, and implementing best practices.
- Foster a safe and secure working environment, promoting infection control and leading knowledge-sharing within the team.

Requirements:

- HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner or NMC registered Nurse with an Anaesthetic module.
- Ideally possess ALS or ILS certification, or willingness to undergo relevant training.
- Strong communication and organizational skills essential for maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
