Senior Operations Manager

Nottinghamshire

£60,000 Benefits

Our client is a growing business with a global footprint, enjoying an exciting period of growth, both organic and via acquisitions. As a result, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Senior Operations Manager to guide and enhance the operational efficiency of the Distribution Centre whilst ensuring excellent customer service is delivered.

The role is based on site at their Distribution Centre in Nottinghamshire, typical office hours, Monday to Friday with some flexibility required in line with site needs.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic plans for continuous improvement in throughput and productivity.

Lead logistics projects to reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.

Manage company expenditure to reduce 'cost to serve' and maximise profitability.

Contribute to budget preparation and financial reporting, proposing cost reduction plans.

Ensure DC operations comply with relevant quality standards set by regulatory bodies.

Collaborate with customers to develop 'best practices' in logistics and inventory control.

Develop the DC team through skills gap analysis, training, and upskilling initiatives.

Provide guidance and direction to team members, supporting their objectives and fostering development opportunities.

Act as a business process lead for WMS development and oversee day-to-day system housekeeping.

Lead WMS projects, facilitating development, testing, and training.

Key Skills

Proven experience working at a senior level in FMCG environments, ideally across 3PL, E-Comm or Retail

Strong systems knowledge, with ability to maximise data in ERP & WMS software

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to build relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders

Data-driven mindset with ability to analyse large data sets and make appropriate recommendations

Strong H&S focus with ability to create a safety-first culture across operations
