We have an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Scientist to join our Pathology team. This role is a based in our Pathology Department in Central London (W1G). We are also offering a competitive salary Starting from £37,000 up to £47,000 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

Job Profile
The Biomedical Scientist position is to supervise technical and scientific work in the laboratory under the direction of the Chief/Senior Biomedical Scientist or Consultant
Key Duties
Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques in line with department standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Record information on the pathology laboratory information system and ensure it complies with national and local data standards.
To assess, initiate and monitor appropriate action when a situation may compromise service delivery and to escalate.
To undertake technical validation and authorisation of results from laboratory investigations as specified by laboratory guidelines and policies.
Liaise with all grades of biomedical scientists, TLC staff and other users to ensure optimal service delivery.
To undertake routine operative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
Under the guidance of senior biomedical scientists undertake corrective maintenance and first line troubleshooting when appropriate.
Liaise with engineers on maintenance and troubleshooting issues in the absence of senior biomedical scientists.
Ensures documentation is accurate and up to date and promotes high standards of documentation within the team.
Skills & Experience
Current state registration as a Biomedical Scientist in the UK (HCPC).
BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent
Completion of specialist training or equivalent experience (more than 2 years) in the UK.
Understands quality assurance procedures in accordance with UKAS standards.
