Job description
Robert Half are partnering with global automotive business, with UK operations based in Staffordshire. The business are now looking to appoint a new Financial Controller (UK No.1).
The Financial Controller (UK No.1) will be leading a finance function comprising of a small highly skilled team, your role encompasses the comprehensive spectrum of financial operations. From financial accounting, statutory compliance, budgeting and forecasting, tax compliance, including income tax and VAT. Continuously looking at improvements and the efficiency of function, reducing time in processing and more emphasis on adding commercial value. Preferably, a Korean speaking finance Manager (professional) preferably.
The Financial Controller (UK No.1) will be the linchpin in managing and reporting to the Global Head Office. Delivering monthly management accounts for the UK business. Your responsibilities extend to producing insightful variance analysis and finance commentary, contributing to the strategic decisions that shape the business's success.
- Accounting & Audit: Handle accounting ledger maintenance, conduct regular reviews and evaluations, and participate in monthly/quarterly/yearly accounting and audit closings.
- Taxation: Manage corporation tax calculations and filings, VAT calculations, and Customs & Excise Duty computations. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and handle tax audits and inquiries.
- Finance & Treasury: Supervise daily treasury activities, manage working capital, and conduct weekly cash flow forecasting. Upgrade and maintain systems, analyse reports, and solve liquidity problems as planned.
- Business Plan & Budget Control: Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of annual business plans/budgets. Evaluate costs and revenues, improve budget control, and optimise costs.
- Corporate Governance and Internal Control: Prepare internal control testing and recommendations, ensure control on financial transactions, and implement strategic finance projects successfully.
- Management Information: Deliver analytical review reports on financial transactions, provide management information at various levels, and assist in delivering financial information and advice.
Skills and Experience:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications (At least 5 PQE)
- Preferably, a Korean speaking finance Manager (professional) preferably.
- Preferably experience working with an International business
- UK/International Accounting /Audit/tax professional qualifications with competent work experiences (career) preferable.
- Automotive industry experience
- SAP experience and strong Excel skills.
- Competent accounting (UK GAAP and IFRS) Standards and Local Tax knowledge
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Professional working manners and good attitude
