Job description

If you are successful and offer this position you must be able to do the following:

Be happy and Jolly, make every child feel they are important and special
be fantastic at pretend play, as we all know in a nursery we can be a pirate, mermaid, horse and a dog all in the same day.
to sing songs, even if they are out of tune every day and in front of people.
provide hugs on demand, and lots of reassurance.
pretend to eat lots of food, even if they are made from mud or playdough, and drink lots of pretend tea
To be able to read a story upside down, with little heads blocking the page and lots of interruptions about what is happening in the story.
be prepared to laugh lots and lots with the children and also with your colleagues
be prepared to be a child's special person, they will hug you, wipe their nose on you and may even choose you and only you to change their dirty nappies
be comfortable to tell the whole room you are off to the toilet
be prepared to go for walks and have little people shouting embarrassing questions and comments in public
be prepared for cleaning daily and weekly of the equipment and toys.
Be prepared to get messy, with sand, water, paint, pasta etc.

Now for the serious part:
You must be a minimum of Level 3 in early years
you must be DBS checked and preferably on the update service, if you do not have a DBS check be prepared to have one carried out.
You must have a first aid certificate, safeguarding training, if you do not have these training will be provided.
You must be prepared to work on a weekly shift rota between the hours of 7.30 and 6pm
plan activities suitable for the age group you are working with.
