The Opportunity

We excellent opportunity to join our Kendalls division as a Chief Engineer of our Dredging vessel operating around the south coast of the UK on a rotational 3 weeks on 3 weeks off shift pattern.

As the Chief Engineer be responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of the vessel's operation including Planned Maintenance System, Defect Management and Fault Diagnosis and Rectification for all shipboard machinery. You’ll also work closely with the Master and shore management to ensure the vessel and its machinery is operated in a safe, efficient and compliant manner at all times and will proactively liaise with all internal and external stakeholders including contractors to ensure necessary technical and engineering support is provided and available to the vessel.

You’ll have a hands-on proactive leadership approach and decision-making skills including ability to work under pressure, with a small multi-cultural team and communicate effectively at all levels of management.

Certifications/ Experience required

Chief Engineer Unlimited (UK COC or CEC) STCW regulation III/2

All in date STCW certification

A valid ENG1 (medical fitness certificate) or accepted equivalent

Ideally some experience working on a dredger vessel, however this is not essential for the role.
