Job Title: Protection Commercial Manager
Salary: £56,421 - £62,690
Location: Edinburgh
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh, Port Hamilton Office.
About us:
Playing an integral part in the protection team, as a Commercial Manager you'll run the day to day commercial activities within Protection. You'll support the Senior Commercial Manager and the wider Protection leadership team in ensuring that we achieve our financial objectives for the business, the customer and our distribution partners.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of new ways of working as well as playing a key part in achieving our stated ambition of becoming a top 3 protection provider.
What you'll be doing:
Support our Protection trading performance and identify performance improvement opportunities. You'll be able to understand impact of actions on forecasted trading results.
Demonstrating your ability to proactively monitor our market position using a range of analytical tools, and providing recommendations to achieve desired market position/financial outcomes
You'll work alongside our pricing and finance teams, supporting our pricing strategy, including pricing principles, customer value for money assessments, as well as anticipating market/competitor movements. This will develop your knowledge of the Protection Profit & Loss, and the drivers of value.
You'll quickly become a key point of contact across our Protection business, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide commercial recommendations on business cases, key distribution deals, including commission, individual pricing and incentive campaign development to name just a few.
Working closely with our distribution teams to find opportunities to expand our market participation, through building up your knowledge of the protection market and our proposition.
Through this role you'll get exposure to all aspects of our propositions and partners, from intermediaries through to our colleagues in Consumer Relationships, showcasing how protection is meaningful throughout our customer base.

What you’ll need…
Business insight - good knowledge of the Protection market
Numerate, with strong problem solving skills - able to model and analyse the commercial consequences of past, present and future business activities
High level of partner management, influencing and interpersonal skills
Confident self worker, proactive and able to prioritise competing objectives
Proficient skills in the form of Excel, PowerPoint presentation and Power BI.
