Job description
Job title: Quantity Surveyor
Sector: Housing
Location: Derby
Thorn Baker are working with an exciting housing developer in Derby who are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support and help the current Commercial Director.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Commercial Director in preparing cost estimates, budgets and tender documents for construction projects.
• Procuring subcontractor quotes, evaluating tender submissions and price negotiations with subcontractors and clients.
• Analyse project costs and variations, including preparing monthly cost value reports.
• Conduct quantity take offs to determine the materials and labour required for each project.
• Submit payment applications and notes to subcontractors and manage any disputes.
• Collaborate with the Head of Procurement and Contracts Manager to review project plans
What we are looking for:
• Experience working for a housebuilder
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
• Previously worked on apartment projects ideally
• Refurb Experience
